- drainhead complex
- An irregular series of low, broad depressions that form the uppermost reaches of surface drainage networks in low relief / low gradient terrain such as coastal plains, and separated by slightly higher and drier areas (e.g., flatwoods). They characteristically lack defined stream channels but contribute surface water to the drainage system further downstream through a network of subtle topographic lows.SW
